Sessions Have Begun

We are excited to announce that we have begun to take a few ongoing clients and are talking about some groups this summer as well through local Lethbridge Agencies who provide services for clients with funding through FSCD, FCSS and/or CFS (Family Services for Children with Disabilities, Family and Children Support Services and Child and Family Services.) At the moment we contract some through Family Ties Association, and look forward to developing some more connections with professionals and agencies in the area. We will also be able to direct bill through benefits coming very soon. We are doing limited sessions at the moment as I am still working full time, and preparing for my big registration exam as a Psychologist – so after that hurdle is completed we will be off and running. Stay tuned for some sweet pics from some sessions we have just done (note: there will not be any pictures with clients in them due to FOIP). If you have any questions please feel free to contact us. We look forward to chatting with you. 32247236_2085125565100486_3762533647857483776_n

Insurance’s are in Place!

So we finally solidified our insurance carries and have wrapped up that task neatly with a bow. We are currently in the process of refreshing some of our training and working on our facilities as well, but will be taking a few clients to start asap. Please share our information with anyone who you feel would benefit from working with a professional team made up of a EAGALA certified mental health therapist (registered provisional psychologist), a equine professional, and of course our four legged equine facilitators.

Getting Closer

It has been a busy winter, and many things are developing. At the moment we are in search of an appropriate equine insurance carrier so that we can begin to work directly with clients. As the warmer weather approaches, although it is an unseasonably warm February and we may still have some snow in the forecast, we are beginning to develop our program more fully. Currently, we have some external agencies inquiring with us regarding some individual EAP sessions for some clients. We may be able to provide this services at our own location, or depending on weather, at a nearby inside arena. Logistics are being worked out. We are super excited to be on the path moving closer to our ultimate service goals. One step at a time, getting closer. We encourage you to share our site, contact us regarding questions, and we can use your feedback as we roll our services out.

Getting Started

We are in the process of developing our services and working with community members and other clients/contributors to create a hub that will provide educational and counseling services that are as “U-Nique as U” are. One of the main focal points in our offered services is in the area of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Learning (EAP/EAL). We are certified in, and utilize the EAGALA model for EAP/EAL services and our team currently consists of a Registered Provisional Psychologist, and an EAGALA Certified Equine Professional, as well as our diverse four-legged therapeutic team members. We will also have other services and contracted services available soon, including psychoeducational assessment, educational consultation, learning strategies and assistive technology training. At the moment we are building and planning, we are taking messages and input regarding your interest in our services, areas of interest for sessions or building our network and spreading the word about experiential services like EAP/EAL. We are open to doing some demonstrations if you are interested in finding out more about this modality in mental health, please contact us to coordinate a time to do so. Currently we are trying to focus on working with at-risk youth, school programs, social skill development, personal learning/development, professional development/team building, parenting, anxiety and coping strategies with more areas likely added in the future. Stay tuned!
